Franco Fontana
Franco Fontana (Modena, 1933) is one of the pioneers of color photography in Europe. Starting in the 1960s, he developed a photographic practice centered on the relationship between color, space, and composition.
His images have redefined the way landscape is represented, transforming it into an abstract, geometric visual structure. His work has been published in numerous international magazines, including Time, Life, Vogue, Domus, and National Geographic.
Over the course of his career, he has published more than fifty photobooks and exhibited at major museums and international institutions, including MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
