Nicolò Filippo Rosso

Documenting migration crises, energy-related conflicts, climate change, and ancient traditions, Nicolò Filippo Rosso's exploration of the human condition and the violation of fundamental freedoms has appeared on the covers of leading magazines and publications worldwide.

In 2021 he received the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Award for Humanistic Photography. In 2024 he received the Alexia Grant.
His work has also been honored with two Getty Editorial Grants, six Pictures of the Year International awards, including the World Understanding Award in 2024, four Best of Photojournalism (NPPA), an International Photography Award (Photographer of the Year, Deeper Perspective, 2020), two World Report Awards, the Premio Ponchielli, the Prix ANI-PixTrack, the Romano Cagnoni Award, the BarTur Photo Award, the Leica Oscar Barnack Award (finalist), and a World Press Photo.

Rosso regularly collaborates with Bloomberg News, TIME, Stern, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

His photographs are part of private collections and museums such as the Ernst Leitz Museum in Wetzlar, Germany, and the W. Eugene Smith Legacy Collection at the International Center of Photography in New York, United States.
Rosso's work has been exhibited in public spaces as part of international campaigns against xenophobia and fundraising events led by international organizations and NGOs, such as UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, IOM, the International Organization for Migration, the European Union, and Global Affairs Canada.

Nicolò Filippo Rosso regularly teaches photography and journalism at universities and academies across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.
His most recent collaborations include workshops at Canon Academy (Italy), VII Masterclass (France), Accademia Italiana (Italy), the University of Texas (USA), George Washington University (USA), and ZOOM Photo Festival (Quebec).
