Fabio Barile
Fabio Barile, born in Italy in 1980, graduated from FSM in Florence in 2007. That same year he was selected among the 15 finalists of the "Atlante Italiano 007" award, with a body of work later exhibited at MAXXI in Rome.
His work focuses primarily on the study of landscape, with particular attention to geology, which has since become the subject of intense independent research.
Since 2013 he has been analysing the intricate elements that characterise the landscape we inhabit, through geological evidence, experimentation with photographic materials, and simulations of natural processes.
Between 2019 and 2020 Barile took part in the major touring museum exhibition "On Earth – Imaging, technology and the natural world", held at the 50th edition of the Rencontres d'Arles and at FOAM Museum in 2020. A portfolio of his most recent work was published in FOAM Magazine #57 'In Limbo'.
That same year, he was one of five artists working with photography selected by UNESCO to work on Italy's most recently inscribed World Heritage sites, a project that will tour the world in the coming years.
