
Giulio Di Sturco
Giulio Di Sturco (1979, Roccasecca, FR) lives between London and Paris. After studying at IED Roma, he moved to India and later to Thailand, where he refined his visual vocabulary while working extensively across Asia and Africa.
His numerous awards include three World Press awards, the Sony Photography Awards, the British Journal of Photography International Awards, the LensCulture Exposure Award and two Getty Grants.
In 2019 his project Aerotropolis was a finalist for the Aesthetica Prize and was nominated for the Prix Pictet.
Giulio regularly collaborates with numerous publications, including The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The National Geographic, Geo, Wired and The Financial Times.
His work has been exhibited internationally in solo exhibitions and group shows. In 2019 he published his first monograph, Ganga Ma (GOST Books), presenting his decade-long research dedicated to the Ganges river in India and Bangladesh.
Giulio continues to redefine the boundaries of documentary photography, constantly refining his aesthetic research. Much of his personal work focuses on environmental issues and the technological evolution currently underway.
