The lecture
In this lecture, Alisa Resnik traces the development of her photographic practice, which emerged spontaneously even before it became a conscious form of research.
Beginning with the project One Another, the lecture offers a journey through her way of seeing: her attention to subtle shifts in expression, suspended places, and spaces that seem to resist any fixed identity. By gradually removing traces of modernity, her images move away from recognisable geographies and clearly defined periods, opening onto a more ambiguous, emotional, and universal dimension.
The lecture explores the relationship between people, places, and visual memory: how an image can emerge when something briefly finds its own balance, and how a specific detail can speak to everyone without losing its uniqueness. It also examines how editing can become not merely a process of selection, but one of discovery, capable of revealing hidden connections and shaping the meaning of a project.
